How to Connect Your Data Source

ELECTE connects to your existing business data so you can generate financial analysis, forecasts, and reports without manually transferring data between systems.

You can connect a data source using an available integration, OAuth authorization, API credentials, or a database connection, depending on the source.

Once connected, ELECTE can securely access the data required for your workspace.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your first data source, make sure you have:

• Access to your ELECTE workspace
• The required permissions to connect a data source
• Access to the account, database, or system you want to connect
• API credentials or database connection details, if required
• Administrator access to the external system when OAuth authorization requires it

Tip: Make sure you know which data you want to connect before starting the setup. This helps you choose the most appropriate connection method.

Connect a Data Source

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click Data Sources in the sidebar.
3. Click Connect Data Source.
4. Select the system you want to connect.
5. Follow the instructions for the selected connection method.

Add Integrations

ELECTE provides 75+ integrations with third-party apps, allowing you to automate your workflow.

To add an integration, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click Integrations in the sidebar.
3. Search for the app you want to connect.
4. Click the + button.
5. Follow the setup instructions.
6. Click Create Integration.

Note: The exact setup steps depend on the app you select.

Connect Using OAuth

Some integrations use OAuth to securely authorize ELECTE to access your data.

1. Select the integration you want to connect.
2. Click Create Integration.
3. Sign in to the external service if prompted.
4. Review the permissions requested by ELECTE.
5. Click Allow.
6. Return to ELECTE and confirm that the data source is connected.

Connect Using API Keys

Some data sources require an API key.

1. Select the relevant data source.
2. Enter the required API key.
3. Click Create.
4. Wait for ELECTE to verify the connection.

Important: Keep your API keys secure. Do not share them in messages, screenshots, or public documents.

Connect a Database

If your data is stored in a supported database, you may be able to connect it directly to ELECTE.

Depending on the database, you may need to provide:

• Database host
• Port
• Database name
• Username
• Password
• SSL or other security settings

Enter the required connection details and click Create.

Tip: Make sure your database allows connections from ELECTE and that the credentials you provide have the required read permissions.

Troubleshooting

If your data source fails to connect or sync, check the error details in the connection settings.

Tips and Common Mistakes

• Use the correct account. Make sure you authorize the external account containing the data you want to connect.
• Check permissions before connecting. You may need administrator access to the external system.
• Keep API keys secure. Never share credentials publicly or include them in screenshots.
• Check the connection status. Make sure the data source is connected before generating reports or forecasts.
• Don't change credentials without updating the connection. If an API key or database password changes, update the corresponding connection in ELECTE.
