What to Do When a Sync Fails

Updated August 2026

When a connected data source stops syncing, ELECTE keeps the last successfully synced data and marks the connection with a sync error. Your existing data is not lost.

Most sync errors are caused by an expired authorization, a change to the source structure, or a temporary rate limit.

Check the Sync Status

Before troubleshooting, check the connection status and error details.

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click Data Source in the sidebar.
  3. Find the integration with the sync error.
  4. Open the connection details.
  5. Review the error message.
Tip: Each sync error includes a connection ID. Keep this ID if you need to contact support.

Reconnect an Expired Authorization

Some data sources require you to periodically re-authorize access.

If your authorization has expired:

  1. Click Integrations in the sidebar.
  2. Click Reconnect.
  3. Follow the authorization instructions.
  4. Complete the authorization.
  5. Check the connection status.

The next sync starts automatically after you re-authorize the connection.

Fix a Changed Data Source

A sync can fail if the structure of your connected data source changes. For example:

  • A column or field was deleted.
  • A sheet was renamed.
  • An account structure changed.
  • A required field was moved or renamed.

The error details should indicate which field or data element the connection expected.

To fix the issue:

  1. Check the error details.
  2. Restore the missing or renamed field in the source, if applicable.
  3. Alternatively, open Data Source and update the mapping.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Check the connection status.

Check for Rate Limits

Some data providers limit how frequently data can be retrieved. If your source has been rate-limited, ELECTE automatically retries the sync using progressively longer intervals.

In most cases, no action is required. Wait for the next retry and check the connection status again.

If the sync continues to fail for more than 24 hours, contact our support team.

Contact Support

If you cannot resolve the sync error, contact our support team and include the connection ID shown in the error panel.

Tip: Don't delete and recreate a connection before contacting support. Keeping the original connection and its error details can help us identify the cause more quickly.
